Due to continued business growth, we are recruiting for Fire & Security
Trainee Installation Engineers. Reporting to the regional installation manager, you will support a Qualified Installation Engineer for the installation and commissioning of fire and security systems across the UK.
As a trainee engineer, you will be responsible in working alongside an experienced Installation Engineer in carrying out the following with on the job training to progress to complete these tasks independently:
- Installation and commissioning of fire and security systems across the UK.
- Ensuring all installation works is completed to the relevant British Standard and workmanship is of high quality.
- Providing and completing handover/commissioning certification, within deadline set by the client.
- Attending and completing system handovers, ensuring a patient approach to the demonstration is adopted.
- Effectively communicate with customers, site managers, installation coordinators and management.
- Attending site meetings when required.
- Assist and liaise with install management to identify training requirements amongst apprentices/junior engineers.
- Ensure all administration requirements are fulfilled and maintained accurately.
- Ensuring yourself and colleagues comply with all health and safety procedures.
- Maintaining the company vehicle and stock levels to ensure client demands are met.
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate the following:
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire and security systems is desirable however previous telecommunications or electrical engineering experience will be considered.
- Have worked with broad spectrum of Hand Tools and worked at Height
- Positive work ethic and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Willingness to work away from home.
- Full UK driving licence, preferred but maybe not essential.
- Professional and presentable.
- Excellent organisational and reporting/communication skills.
- Due to the nature of the company’s business, the successful candidate will be vetted for security reasons.

Basic Salary: Dependant on experience.
Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours per week (with plenty of overtime available).
Travel paid minus ½ hour each way.
Hours of Work: 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Flexibility may be required to support business and client needs.
