About The Role

Our Financial Reporting Team supports the Board and Audit Committees to enable effective decision making by providing prompt, accurate and relevant information.

As part of this support, you`ll ensure that key projects in the team are delivered within the required deadlines and ensure that all statutory reporting is delivered within the required deadlines and that a robust control environment is maintained to ensure the reporting is accurate.

Key Accountabilities Of The Reporting Manager – Finance Will Include
  • Delivery of statutory reporting for 13 legal entities. This will include any related Interim requirements (Cadent Finance Plc, Cadent Gas Limited, Quadgas Finance Plc and Quadgas Midco Limited) and also quarterly reporting to the consortium of shareholders
  • Reviewing monthly reporting performed by the team using consolidation systems Longview/BPC (including signing off of month end controls)
  • Managing the external audit process, including the external audit of financial returns submitted to Ofgem and the banks, resolving queries and issues raised by auditors and regulatory bodies
  • Interpreting and disseminating Cadent Gas accounting policies and new accounting standards to the UK Business, ensuring their implementation in Finance. Establish training and support processes, providing expert accounting advice to all parts of the business to ensure compliance and maximisation of value to Cadent Gas
  • Leading the financial reporting team in key Group accounting areas. These areas include distributable reserves, goodwill impairment, accounting for related parties, exceptional items, accounting for our defined benefit pension plan, IFRS 16, supporting any treasury refinancing requirements, assisting with covenant compliance with our loan documents and pension trustees and any other key areas
  • Delivering the new consolidation module (BPC) and disclosure management to ensure the effective use of systems in our reporting processes
  • Driving and supporting the delivery of change across Finance and the business, role- modelling new ways of working and owning the delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long-term business capability.
  • Leading and developing a highly motivated, innovative and customer focused Finance team
  • Assisting the high-quality documenting of end-to-end processes and controls to meet Regulatory compliance requirements. Ensure that governance and internal financial control over processes are robust and comply with Cadent Gas frameworks
  • Providing the financial support to the Board and Audit Committee including supporting initiatives including dividends, financing and regulatory finance matters

About You

You’ll possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Detailed technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP and experience of applying principles in complex situations
  • Prior exposure with a Financial Reporting function preferable with knowledge of consolidation systems
  • Experience of working in a regulated industry preferable or demonstration of being able to work with a variety of stakeholders

Qualifications Required
  • The role requires a full qualified accountant or equivalent (e.g. ACA, ACCA)
  • Degree or equivalent
