Job Description

  • You will have responsibility for the accuracy and delivery of regulatory and statutory reporting of all my clients UK entities under UK GAAP
  • You will oversee the production of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual UK market results under US GAAP for internal and Global reporting
  • Collaborating with the US Corporate Controller Group to understand any accounting issues
  • Responsibility for the relationships with both internal and external auditors
  • Working with the wider Finance team to understand accounting for complex restaurant transactions across the business
  • Management of our balance sheet along with all associated controls
  • Responsibility for all internal and SOX controls, leading a cross-functional effort to ensure our controls environment is robust and business risk is minimised
  • Act as a mentor, coach and manager for a team of robust individuals, creating development plans for each
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of global finance system projects in UK & Ireland
  • Participate on cross-functional teams as assigned by the VP/Chief Financial Officer/GBS Leadership
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and automation projects

The Successful Applicant

  • ACA or ACCA
  • Practice experience essential
  • 3+ years post qualified experience
  • Extensive technical accounting experience in UK GAAP (US GAAP would be beneficial)
  • Strong, diligent, analytical skills - an ability to ask questions to breakdown problems, identify trends and creating action, solutions and change
  • Critical thinking - "connecting the dots" between our strategy and our numbers
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills - an ability to communicate to all levels of the organisation and tell the story behind the numbers
  • A master networker - an ability to work cross-functionally, building strong relationships and influence over partners
  • A genuine curiosity to understand the "why" and challenge the status quo
  • A track record of being able to translate problems into clear, achievable solutions for your team - delegating in a fast-paced environment
  • A desire to invest in talent development, developing our leaders of the future
  • Ambitious and looking to learn, develop and growth within the organisation
  • Experience of SOX and a Company with strong internal controls
