An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Finance teamfor a permanent Financial Planning Analyst. The role will be working in a hybrid approach across our Newport & Cardiff City Centre Offices and some working from home.

We are fully committed to providing the successful candidate with a development plan and goal to work towards a career in Finance and Treasury. Full study support will be provided through a accounting professional qualification and progression to Senior Financial Planning Analyst and FP&A Manager.

What will you be doing?

As the Financial Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for responsible for forecasting the future financial performance of the Society to deliver the Strategic Plan. Forecasting financial performance of the Strategic Plan and analysis of current financial performance, including 5 year margin forecasts, balance sheet projections, lending & funding growth and tracking key performance indicators (KPI’s). Ongoing MI support to finance, the ALCO pack and the Strategic Plan.

In this role you will be supporting the Head of Asset and Liability Management (ALM) and working closely with Finance business partners, Treasury, Products, the Change team and the Executive to further enhance the Society’s financial planning. Additionally, develop key Financial Planning models to support the long term financial stability of the Society.

Qualifications, skills & experience


  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Strong quantitative and financial modelling skills
  • Strong skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office Packages

Desirable


  • Relevant degree qualification (accounting/finance/business or mathematics)
  • Experience with dealing with large datasets
  • Relevant Finance experience
  • Experience in producing and presenting complex financial information effectively, accurately and efficiently
  • Building Society or banking -specific experience
