Financial Controller - Transformation
£65,000 - £75,000 + Bonus & benefits

Aila is excited to be exclusively partnered with the UK’s leading operator within its field and a large multi-site business in the recruitment of an ACA/ACCA Qualified Financial Controller on a permanent basis, working in a continuous improvements and transformation role, reporting into the Finance Director.

The Financial Controller role is responsible for continuous improvement of the end to end finance processes and how they relate to other business areas, including carrying out financial analysis for the Operations and Trading teams to support effective decision making.

You will manage all process improvement and transformational projects, constantly looking to assess and challenge how things are done across the Group. You may also get involved with various ad hoc financial activities as and when required by the Finance directors or CFO.

Reporting to the Director, Group Financial Control, you will be required to effectively communicate and co-ordinate with senior management, and all other head office departments and personnel.

We are looking for an ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with previous experience in change management, transformation or continuous improvement projects. You don’t have to have led a finance transformation but should have been involved in complex and ever-changing process improvements within a large business setting.

As well as having had exposure to improvement projects and transformation, you will need to be comfortable working for a large corporate business and have exposure to a complex and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and develop end to end process reviews for finance operations, as prioritised by the Finance Director, ensuring compliance with current legislation. For example, the treatment of Output VAT “terminal to accounts”
  • Drive process improvement, efficiency, automation and awareness, and identifying systems solutions as appropriate
  • Proposing changes to the Finance Director for implementation
  • Lead projects to deliver efficiency and automation
  • Carry out ad-hoc initial analysis of new business relationships and contracts as required
  • Lead finance led initiatives/projects improving cashflow such as supplier terms review
  • Continually review and update the Contract Manager (CM) Handbook, aligning with the CM induction pack and expand to include other relevant finance processes
  • Update internal finance policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legislation where appropriate
  • Undertake any complex investigative work required by the Finance Director
  • Ensure Corporate Credit Cards are closely controlled, with appropriate limits in place
  • Other ad-hoc transformational and process improvement projects
