The Company

Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting a Financial Controller for one of Oxfordshire’s most successful privately-owned professional services businesses.

Led by a hugely impressive entrepreneur, the company deliver business-to-business services both independently (60% of revenue) and as Franchisor (40% of revenue) and have subsequently developed a hugely scalable and highly-profitable commercial model.

The organisation put their environmental and sustainability credentials front and centre, and have attained a series of quality standards and accreditations which have given them a competitive advantage in tendering processes.

This company has an exciting future ahead and are looking to double their £30m turnover in the next few years. They acquired a leading competitor this year which has further strengthened their scope and there will be more to come in the next 12 months.

The business is expanding at a rapid rate and the Financial Controller will be key in managing the Finance team and month end.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director this role will be responsible for line-managing the finance team across AP, Purchase Ledger and Payroll and driving the month end / management accounting process.

Core duties include:

  • Work on the month-end and management accounts
  • Manage, motivate and develop the transactional finance team
  • Establish brand new processes within finance to make sure the team are meeting month end deadlines (prior experience of improving operational processes would be great to see)
  • Group consolidation work – this firm has several entities within the Group
  • Overseeing various budgeting and cashflow forecasting activities

To be considered for the role (essential requirements):

  • You will be a qualified Accountant
  • Highly passionate about working for a scaling business
  • Very strong communication skills
  • Experience managing team members
  • Experience driving process improvements
  • Experience of budgeting and forecasting

What we’d like to see (strong desirable):

  • Experience of working for a fast growth SME
  • Have worked in a contract-services environment before
  • Can start immediately

Salary: £60,000-£65,000

Location: South Oxford
