Work You Will Be Accountable For

  • Monthly management accounts
  • Commission payments to franchisees
  • Weekly reporting to Directors
  • Credit control including debt collection (more importantly minimising the need for this)
  • Management of finance team and ensuring high quality of work from your team
  • Supporting franchisees with finance-related questions
  • Preparation of accounts ready for annual audit
  • HMRC filings
  • Payroll
  • Budgets

About You:

You’ll be a people person who works well with deadlines and the need to support others. You’ll relish the thought of developing and improving processes. Most importantly you’ll want to grow and develop your role and your team to support a business which will double in size over the next 1-2 years.

A year from now you will have had a great year if you move the needle on these three metrics:

  • Reduced debt
  • Reduced operational waste
  • Increased EBITDA through improve efficiencies and cashflow management

The Role:

You’ll have a hugely important role within our business as you will be leading, the team responsible for collecting payments from our franchisees but most importantly ensuring they are paid each month. That will mean working closely with many other departments within our business.

Of course, your team will also be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the business.

Here is where we see you need experience to kick ass at this role:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a least 2 years post qualification experience
  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Proficiency with current financial software
  • Understanding of UK GAAP
  • Strong focus on controls and processes and a high attention to detail
  • Up-to-date technical skills and confident preparing UK statutory accounts
  • The ability to work closely with external advisers
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Approachable, outgoing and diplomatic
  • Fastidious about accuracy with outstanding attention-to-detail
  • Comfortable working as part of a team or alone and under pressure, and able to form and maintain relationships at all levels
