Financial Controller – Thatcham, Berkshire - £45,000 - £60,000 – Onsite full timeFryerMiles are delighted to be working exclusively with an SME Electronics manufacturer in Thatcham Berkshire, to assist with their recruitment of a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day back office function coupled with taking the lead of the day-to-day office management, you will be working closely with the part time Finance Director and Managing Director.This is a new role in the business as one of the Director is looking to focusing on other roles internally. They are also going through a period of sustained growth. We are looking for a someone who is self-motivated from an SME environment, can work on their own and as part of team, holds excellent communication skills.Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Being a senior manager within the company involved in all aspects of the organisation, you will assume responsibility for HR and day to day office management.
  • Day to day running of the finance function including checking and posting transactions, reconciling bank accounts and preparing month end accounts.
  • Monitoring internal controls, accounting systems and procedures.
  • Preparation of weekly, monthly and annual financial statements to tight deadlines.
  • Preparation of supporting information for the external accountant around Statutory Accounts.
  • Various ad hoc financial projects to contribute to the ongoing success of the company.

Requirements

  • All round experience from working in SME environments. Ideally with experience in foreign exchange and management of administration functions.
  • A self-starter who takes ownership, is hands on with excellent attention to detail.
  • Either QBE or qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA minimum 4/5 years post qualified
  • Have the personality to be a Team Leader and a Team Player.
  • Ability to grasp complex situations and create own processes with new data sources.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical skills
