Financial Controller Vacancy

Our client is based locally in Newbury are going through an exciting period of growth and due to a recent restructure are now looking to recruit an ambitious Financial Controller to head up their finance function.

This is a newly created role and will report directly to the Directors of the business. It will oversee 1 member of staff and will suit a commercially minded person who can manage and improve the organisation’s financial performance and direct our accounting operations.

The company have ambitious plans to capitalise on this recent success and put the building blocks in place for future growth.

Main Responsibilities & Duties

  • Duties for the financial controller will include managing accounting records,
  • Evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations,
  • Publishing financial statements,
  • Overseeing accounting operations,
  • Analysing financial data, monitoring expenditure, forecasting revenue, coordinating auditing processes, and ensuring accuracy of financial information.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills.
  • The noteworthy financial controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports,
  • Oversee business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation.
  • Prepare and provide commentary of analysis for Directors.
  • Manage finance team of 1. Oversee smooth running of Accounts Payable & Receivable function, hands on whenever necessary
  • Control & completion of Month End process
  • Ownership of Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Overhead review, analysis, and comparatives with improvement recommendations
  • Ownership of VAT
  • Overseeing CIS payment scheme
  • Daily Cashflow management
  • Business Partner Key contact and resource for completion of Year End Statutory Accounts
  • Implementation of all necessary transaction process, policies, controls, and procedures

The ideal candidate will either be later stages of study or qualified ACCA or CIMA. However qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
