Liba Recruitment have partnered with a growing organsation based in Barry to recruit a Financial Controller.

The group is made up of 2 companies. An Automotive business and a Recruitment Agency. Previous experience in either is preferred.

As the senior finance professional within the organisation, you’ll lead financial management & strategy, whilst overseeing transactional finance and contributing to the leadership and development of the organisation.

You will;

  • Oversee transactional finance and payroll functions, ensuring these are undertaken efficiently
  • Ensure key areas of financial management including, budget management including production of management accounts for the Board, P&L, weekly cash-flow, leadership of annual audit and delivery of statutory accounts, treasury management, financial risk management and financial compliance and strategic financial advice and support to leadership team
  • Ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial information and analysis to assist in key decision making by the Board and Leadership Team
  • Guarantee that financial systems and procedures meet organisational needs
  • Produce Debtor Reports with commentary
  • Analyse tenders and report findings to the board
  • Facilitate improved use of financial and performance data to support decision making and performance improvement
  • Deploy, monitor and manage assigned budgets
  • Contribute to the business development of the organisation, including additional contracting, grant funding, gifting, donations, legacies and income generation
  • Handle VAT and other tax liabilities are managed and compliant with latest legislation
  • Planning and organising the strategic financial planning and risk management across the organisation
  • Establish and embed robust financial transactions are undertaken to meet obligations
  • Identify best value and areas for efficiency / cost reduction / sustainable procurement
  • Ensure financial regulations and financial compliance is adhered to across the organisation
  • Build positive relationships with other staff, colleagues, and stakeholders, including Board members

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE (5 years min)
  • A hands-on approach to financial control and management
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to converse with Board of Directors
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and timescales
  • Strong MS Office including advanced Excel

Salary - £45,000 - £55,000 DOE
