Financial Controller - Cornwall with travel to Scotland

Winners Recruitment client is looking for a financial controller, preferably with experience within the retail wholesale or digital commerce sector.

You will be highly experienced in managing the entire finance function of a business. highly numerate and data driven. You will have excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the audit process, acting as liaison with the internal and external auditors in respect of risk and governance matters.
  • Prepare accurate, consistent, and timely financial accounts and reports in accordance with local and Group Reporting requirements.
  • Develop the financial plan to support the Group in achieving its corporate strategy and targets by leading flexible planning, budgeting and forecasting processes which can model the financial impact of changing external and internal conditions across a range of scenarios, thereby supporting decision making around the best strategic way forward.
  • Delivers robust and clear financial appraisal of investment opportunities to enable the business to take decisions in line with the business strategy and achieve optimum returns.
  • Responsible for the finance team development in both in Cornwall and Scotland.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the teams to meet business and individual objectives whilst continuously developing your own leadership and people management skills.
Skills
  • You will be CIMA qualified or equivalent and have succeeded in a similar role previously.
  • You’ll have advanced MS Excel skills and ERP experience, knowledge of Netsuite would be advantageous.
  • Ideally have proven track record working in Retail, Wholesale & Digital Commerce sectors in businesses with a turnover of + £10m.
  • You will be data driven and highly numerate, with strong analytical and data mining skills.
  • You’ll have excellent people skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
  • Solid IT skills, with good working knowledge of MS Office programs and the ability to learn in-house systems quickly.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to Scotland on a monthly to spend time with the team.

Salary: up to £47,000 per annum
