Trial Balance are delighted to have been assigned to source an experienced Financial Controller to join a prominent services business based in West Cornwall. This is a pivotal role within the company and one where the successful candidate will join at senior management level, and assume large scale responsibility for the group accounting function.

Key Features Of The Role To Include

Reporting to the Finance Director and liaising closely with the board of directors and multiple external stakeholders, the successful candidate will also assume frontline support of a medium sized accounting team.
  • Lead responsibility for all accounting protocols and maintaining robust internal controls
  • Ensure compliance to all relevant reporting standards
  • Identify and implement improvements to the function
  • Act as a key point of contact to external stakeholders and major suppliers
  • Production and delivery of detailed management accounts
  • Ensure efficient supplier payment processes
  • Management of the payroll function (not administration)
  • Assist with annual audits
  • Deputise for FD during periods of absence
  • Lead and develop your own team to ensure CPD goals are achieved
Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Controller with a demonstrable history of success. A professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), you’ll need a solid background in supervising staff, preparation of financial and management reports, up to date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls, and most certainly a natural leadership style. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, and well suited to a driven FC who cares about their colleagues as much as their clients.
