As Financial Controller, you will be pivotal in overseeing financial activities within our organisation. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements. Your expertise will enable you to implement and maintain adequate financial controls while providing timely and accurate financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with accounting standards on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities and provide accurate and timely reports to the CFO and stakeholders.

Financial Planning and Budgeting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with the department heads to establish realistic and attainable financial targets
  • Monitor and analyse budget variances identifying and explaining significant deviations.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations for strategic planning and resource allocation decisions

Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Establish and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify control weaknesses, and implement corrective actions.

Cash Flow Management

  • Manage cash flow forecasting, optimising working capital and ensuring funds are available to meet operations requirements.
  • Monitor banking activities, maintain relationships with financial intuitions, and evaluate and recommend suitable investable and funding strategies.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide guidance, mentorship and foster a collaborative work environment.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Relevant financial or accounts degree or qualifications (e.g ACCA, AAT, CIMA)
  • Proven experience working as a Financial Controller or similar role, preferably within a medium-large sized business.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database tools.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align financial strategies with organisational goals.
