Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in London.
This has a great opportunity to play a significant role in the effective delivery of financial planning workstreams, including production of financial forecasts, long terms plans, and board reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will support the Senior Financial Analyst and contribute to one or more of the following activities undertaken by the team:
Annual business planning including the Lloyd’s Syndicate Business Forecast (SBF) and full year corporate plan
Production of long term financial plans, including P&L and Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Capital by segment and legal entity (syndicate, group, UK/US GAAP)
Quarterly forecasting, including collaboration with underwriting, actuarial, reinsurance and other finance teams (syndicate, group, UK/US GAAP)
Monthly premium forecasting working closely with underwriting teams
Collaboration with CNA’s Group finance function in US
Market/industry analysis
Act as the finance representative assigned to certain projects as required
Evaluation of organic and inorganic growth opportunities
Development of planning reports through automation and system enhancements
Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Working knowledge of insurance accounting preferable but alternative may be considered.
Ability to work with large and complex datasets in a variety of formats
Advanced Excel user skills (required).
Track record in other financial planning roles
Accomplished communication skills
Ability to plan, organise and own role effectively
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Intellectual curiosity
Preferably Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or similar qualification
