General Description of the role:

Due to the rapid expansion of the business, we are creating a new role to enhance the reporting capacity of the finance function.


Reporting to the Management Accountant (Head of Finance) and based in the London Office, you will be an experienced and capable Financial Accountant comfortable with interpreting and reporting monthly results and owning month end close processes.


Responsibilities include ensuring that subsidiaries report their results in a timely manner to ensure compliance with overall month end reporting timetables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of financial accounting including month-end close to a timetable
  • Be proactive in seeking out an understanding of how the business operates and the key business drivers to help add value and insight to work delivered
  • Completing monthly group reporting deliverables, board pack preparation including KPI tracking, trend analysis and consolidations
  • Identify areas for improvement in the reporting process and work with the Management Accountant to implement changes
  • Design and implement inter-company consolidation controls for purchases and sales within the business
  • Assist with the statutory reporting process where required including group reporting and external audit deliverables
  • Facilitate the outsourced preparation of the statutory accounts, and maintain audit compliant work-papers on selected accounts or areas
  • Responsible for reporting to HMRC (VAT, CIS, and other taxes) and ensuring that reporting deadlines are met for VAT, Tax and statutory accounts
  • Keep up to date with accounting standards to ensure compliance
  • Manage junior team member currently studying for accounting qualifications

Key Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Strong understanding of month end procedures, reconciliations etc.
  • Experience of dealing with a changing, fast paced business
  • Experience of identifying and implementing new controls and procedures
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work to strict deadlines while maintaining the quality and accuracy of the work
  • Advanced Excel skills and accounts system administration
  • 2+ years post qualifying experience in financial accounting and reporting role (preferably in telecoms or construction sector)
  • Thorough understanding of computer systems and applications including ideally NetSuite
  • Experience in working with senior level stakeholders across different functions
