We are looking for a highly ambitious technical accountant to join our team to assist in the accounting and reporting of our large complex group, reporting under IFRS. Due to our rapid growth we are additionally bringing in new systems and processes to ensure robust scalability and the new team member will be key in supporting this process.

You will be responsible for a number of internal and external reporting processes and providing technical support to the business to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Key Tasks

  • Undertake the production and presentation of monthly financial information, management accounts and performance reports for the business.
  • Undertake complex month-end financial accounting adjustments for technical areas, under IFRS.
  • Assist in the production of other ad hoc financial information as required e.g. internal analysis, audit deliverables, technical guidance, survey responses.
  • Maintain integrity of accounting ledgers for multiple entities, including reviewing entries, identifying errors, and adhering to group policies on creation of new codes and entities.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate and consistent procedures and controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support on a variety of ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.
  • Production of annual financial statements for group entities and contributing towards the consolidation.
  • Contribute towards the audit process for both the group and overseas entities.

Build strong relationships with the Darktrace team to ensure you are all working to your full potential and can be interchangeable when required.

Act as a key contact for a number of external parties including auditors & accounting advisors.

  • This role will be based in Cambridge with potentially some travel to the London office as required

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Educated to at least Degree level
  • Practice trained, Qualified accountant (BIG 4 preferred)
  • Very strong technical and financial reporting knowledge particularly under IFRS

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent Excel skills, leveraging and developing finance systems and data models
  • Experience of group and international business strongly desired
  • Experience of IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and complex multi-currency environments will be beneficial
  • Experience in working in high performing teams to tight deadlines
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
