This role can be performed remotely with the requirement to join the Team minimum, twice per month in our Dumfries office.

About The Role

This role comprises assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reporting to meet management and statutory (US and UK) requirements. The candidate will join an experienced team in Dumfries providing financial reporting, SOX compliance and management support for the Customer Operations UK business. The position holder must be a fully qualified accountant.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly accounting statements with specific responsibility for certain areas of the balance sheet such as fixed assets, payroll, intercompany & taxation
  • Reporting of monthly figures, including statistical analysis, to US parent company
  • Preparation of UK statutory accounts
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT return and monthly VAT accounting
  • Submission of statutory returns and management of Companies House filings
  • Coordination of internal and external audits, both to Group and local materiality
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and accuracy, together with an enquiring mind are the key attributes for the successful candidate
  • Takes an overview of end-to-end financial accounting processes and drives continuous improvement in these from a process, data, system and people perspective.
  • Coaches, mentors and develops both direct reports and more junior members of the Finance team.

About You
  • Part Qualified accountant
  • Qualified : ACA/CA, ACCA
  • Min 3 years experience in a finance department or accountancy practice.
  • Graduate or high level of achievement at A level or equivalent.

Specialised Knowledge and Skills: Willingness to study the business and group, including management, reporting & review processes

Other: Good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and an ability to analyze large data sets/large volumes of transactions. Experience of SAP or Oracle financial software would be advantageous.
