We are looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant with a can-do attitude, to work within our small, and friendly Accounts’ team. With the ability to deal with high volumes of processing, the main duties include the following:

  • Checking hotel purchase invoices against our invoice authorisations sheets and querying discrepancies with the hotel contracting team
  • Ensuring the invoice authorisation sheets are a fair reflection of invoices received and invoices still be received / approved.
  • Posting approved invoices onto Sage 200 Accounts system
  • Preparing payment runs and posting payments through the bank
  • Reconciling purchase ledger accounts to statements
  • Assisting in the completion of the purchase ledger month-end processes
  • Liaising with colleagues and suppliers to resolve purchase ledger queries
  • Managing the set-up of new supplier accounts
  • Contacting customers to chase their balance payments
  • Assisting in office related activity such as post, returned mail etc
  • Any other additional administrative duties that assists the effective running of the Accounts’ team.

The ideal candidate for this exciting opportunity will have excellent organisation and time management skills, be computer literate, particularly Excel and Word, with a high level of concern for accuracy and attention to detail. Previous Sage 200 Accounts’ experience would be an asset although not essential. Good communication and supplier relationship skills are vital as well as excellent numerical skills, as well as someone who works well within a team.
