Job Title: Finance Officer

Reports to: Head of Finance

Salary: Scale 5, Points 23-25, £21,420 - £22,820 per annum, pro rata

Hours of work: Part Time (18.75 hours per week)


Key Duties:

  • Preparation of Sales Invoices as requested and posting invoices onto the Sales Ledger on the Finance system and monitoring debtors.
  • Support with posting information from all St Basils cash transactions including Petty Cash, Bank Transactions, and All Income Types and Cheque payments into the electronic Cash Book.
  • Process BACS payments as required (including monthly payroll) on the Lloyds Commercial Banking platform.
  • Maintain employee payroll records on the Sage system.
  • Update the electronic cash flow forecast for bank accounts with the actual transactions to ensure the forecast is kept up to date and accurate.
  • Support with checks on the monthly payroll adjustments and raise queries with the Senior Finance Officer and HR team as required.
  • Perform other duties as part of the monthly payroll process, including pension assessments.
  • To act as cover for other members of the Finance team in times of sickness / annual leave, including physical cover at Head Office as required.

Reconciliation, Accounting and Reporting

  • Prepare the monthly payroll journals for posting to the finance system.
  • To prepare monthly reconciliations of the payroll control accounts.
  • Submit monthly pension deductions data to pension provider and submit EPS and FPS reports to HMRC.
  • To prepare monthly bank reconciliations for the Rent bank account, by checking the bank statements received to the Cash Books and by investigating and highlighting any differences.
  • Reconciliation of the Sales Ledger on a monthly basis
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports as required.

Dealing with Queries

  • To liaise with project staff regularly to ensure that all information required is accurate and received by specified deadlines.
  • To resolve and action any queries that may arise from project staff and Managers appropriate and relevant to the role.

To be present at Head Office when required to ensure cover in the office for queries from people coming to the Finance department.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Maths & English GCSE Grade C or Above
  • Studying A.A.T or equivalent
