West Dunbartonshire Council have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, creative and inspiring individual to join us to help shape and influence our ambitious plans and future direction. We are currently recruiting a Finance Manager. Working closely with the Council’s Chief Officer Resources (S95 Officer) you will be responsible for managing the delivery of effective revenue and capital budgets, treasury management, and leading on all financial accounting issues including tax management, the preparation and audit of the Council’s financial statements as well as providing financial services to the Dunbartonshire & Argyll and Bute Valuation Joint Board, West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust and the Council’s Charitable Trusts, including the Dumbarton Common Good Fund; Clydebank Property Company; and the West Dunbartonshire Energy Company.

You will support the S95 Officer to provide the Council with assurance on financial governance arrangements, administration and the deployment of financial resources and ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective Finance, Governance and Treasury Management team.

We are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator and can demonstrate they have the skills to build and experience to help deliver continuous improvement. Previous financial experience working at a senior level, preferably within Local Authority or NHS and possession of a degree level qualification are essential.

This post requires a level of knowledge which must be evidence via a relevant professional qualification /diploma and over 5 years previous relevant experience. Professional qualification required in this role is: Fully qualified Accountant, holding full professional registration with ACCA, CIPFA or other CCAB body.
