Insite Energy is a dynamic, fast growing utility services company that provides services to distributed energy schemes in the UK, particularly residential district heating schemes. The services provided include metering & billing, installation and management of metering equipment, and ongoing maintenance.

The Finance Team is responsible for ensuring that all financial data and information is dealt with appropriately, facilitating accurate reporting, reliable planning, and informed decision making. Reporting to the Finance & Strategy Director, the Finance Manager is a key member of the finance function.
Requirements
Management

  • Line management of three Accounts Assistants and one Credit Manager
  • Develop and guide one Finance & Stock Administrator on a dotted line basis
  • Maintain the Standard Operating Procedures register for Finance to ensure compliance with the ISO regulations
  • Oversee the creation of recharge invoices, as required, to the other Group Companies
  • Oversee the management of employee credit cards, ensuring all information is obtained by the Accounts Assistants and posted to Sage in a timely manner
  • Oversee and guide maintenance of the General Ledger
  • Oversee reconciliation of stock
  • Review and suggest improvements to the accounting function to ensure work is carried out efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee the bookkeeping of other Group Company accounts, including auditor liaison for one Group Company

Funds Management

  • Maintain banking relationships
  • Ensure there are appropriate controls in place to protect and preserve client funds
  • Reconciliation of the individual client funds accounts
  • Oversee reconciliation of all bank accounts
  • Check the monthly client fund transfers for accuracy, ensuring the offset reports and schedules feeding into the payments are accurate via spot-checks (the reports and schedules will have been prepared and checked by the accounts assistants)
  • Oversee issuance of reports to clients relating to their monthly fund transfers and balances
  • Maintain ongoing cashflow forecasting
  • Check payment runs, ensuring accuracy prior to submission to Finance & Strategy Director
  • Be the Person of Responsibility for Money Laundering Regulations, and ensure continuing compliance

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Produce the annual budget to review stage, liaising with revenue heads as appropriate
  • Update forecast, on a monthly basis, as part of management accounts process

Financial Analysis

  • Oversee production of the monthly management accounts within required timescales, to enable review by the Finance & Strategy Director, including, but not limited to; closedown of ledgers, posting of journals, production of all supporting schedules, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Oversee production of revenue reports, by stream and subcategory, on a month-on-month basis
  • Oversee production of cost analysis files specific to areas requested on a month-on-month basis
  • Oversee maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, including calculating monthly depreciation charges
  • Produce detailed P&L commentary, as part of the management accounts
  • Undertake ongoing intercompany reconciliations
  • Oversee production of the weekly Flash Reports, liaising with revenue heads to ensure accuracy
  • Produce monthly management accounts of one other Group Company

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Produce year-end file, ensuring all items are reconciled and back-up is available for review
  • Run the annual audit
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns for Insite and other Group Companies
  • Prepare and submit annual PSA
  • Prepare and submit annual P11ds
  • Prepare and submit monthly, annual, and ad hoc ONS surveys
  • Be the point of contact for the accountants dealing with annual corporation tax matters for the other Group Companies
  • Submit annual abbreviated accounts for the other Group Companies

Benefits
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
