Finance Manager

Inventum Group are working with a leading Alternative Financial Services business who require a full-time permanent Finance Manager based in Sutton, Surrey. This role could also suit an immediately available candidate on a temp-perm basis, or a contractor whilst they find the right permanent incumbent.

Team culture:The Leadership team works collaboratively and interchangeably, with a strong team-ethic and a “no task is beneath me” mentality. You will be reporting into the Director of Finance, although will work very closely with the CFO.

As a Finance Manager for this business, you will have direct responsibility for a team of transactional accountants and be the key business partner to the Group Finance Director.

The responsibilities as the Finance Manager below are fairly typical of any qualified accountant, so strong business partnering skills and understanding how to communicate effectively with non-finance staff, as well as your own finance staff (team of direct reports includes a Senior Accountant 3 accounts assistants) is absolutely critical in this role.

General Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the management accounts including all commentary.
  • Day to day financial processes including cash books.
  • Responsibility & full review of the management accounts
  • Preparation and review of annual budgets in accordance with group timetable.
  • Variance analysis.
  • Margin and sales analysis.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Expense management and approval.
  • Intercompany recharges & reconciliations.
  • Key contact for year end audits.
  • VAT returns, corporation tax and other governmental requirements.
  • To improve financial and non-financial processes.
  • Other ad hoc reports and requirements from management as and when required.

Experience required

Full professional qualification - ACA, ACCA or CIMA is essential

A minimum of 5 years PQE experience

People Management experience

Strong technical capability

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
