Moorhaven is a residential developer based in the South West. It has been developing properties for the last 30 years and has carried out schemes ranging from single new builds up to village sized developments of over 120 homes. The company specialises in delivering high quality custom build houses valued at £750,000 to £1,500,000 typically with land in rural areas. We are looking for a high calibre Finance Manager to join the team.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of management information in various forms - sales figures, P&L, balance sheets, various ad hoc reports and costings
  • Provide monthly management accounts
  • Maintain accounting functions of company including all ledgers and preparations of all tax returns
  • To ensure smooth running of bank accounts and credit control
  • Monthly statutory returns to include VAT
  • Management of cash flow,
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Cost analysis and recommending cost-saving measures
  • To prepare invoices and purchase orders as required
  • To ensure that invoices and expenses are accurately allocated and paid on time
  • Manage and maintain aspects of both the HR & IT functions
  • Manage accounts personnel
  • Implement internal controls

Qualifications and Skills

  • Commercial, operational outlook
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to see beyond the numbers to identify / analyse what is driving them
  • Able to write reports with advanced use excel
  • Knowledge of Sage or similar systems
  • Be flexible and adaptable
