Vargo is recruiting for a well-established, commercial lender who is looking to recruit a Finance Director to sit on their Senior Management Team. Our client operates across several regions in the UK and distributes commercial funds to under-served SMEs and business communities. Ethics and responsibility is at the core of their ethos and I couldn’t think of a nicer group of individuals to work with. This will suit someone from a practice background looking to take a step into a commercial business

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Executive and leading a team of 6 finance professionals, this role will come with the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and execute strategic priorities.
  • Ensure financial sustainability through effective management of resources and risk.
  • Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance.
  • Lead funding initiatives and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and manage audits effectively.
  • Drive operational efficiency and risk management across the organisation.
  • Represent the wider business at industry events and industry meet-ups.

Requirements

  • Relevant accountancy qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in strategic financial management and leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
