Job description

Dedicate Recruitment are working to appoint an experienced Finance Assistant for a highly successful independent school in Hertfordshire, which is characterised by exceptional academic standards and outstanding pastoral care.

Joining a professional and welcoming finance team, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for administering the school’s sales ledger, from billing to fee settlement and credit control. The role includes maintenance of a monthly direct debit file, and management of a sales ledger within SAGE, and uploading collection into a PTX BACS system.

You will administer credit notes, provide analysis of revenue for the Finance Director and uploading payments to the authorised banking portal.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of credit control procedures, including invoicing, collection and maintenance of a sales ledger. You will have a natural ability to communicate well across all levels of staff, be efficient in delivering to tight deadlines and operate in a calm and confident manner when dealing with queries.

A good working knowledge of SAGE and MS Office (Word and Excel) is essential. Experience working for a school and/or charity is highly desirable for this role.

The client will also consider a temporary to permanent basis for candidates available on short notice.

This is a full time, all year through role. Hours of work are 8.30am - 5.00pm, Monday - Friday.
