Full time - 35 hours per week
12 month fixed term, maternity leave cover
The Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) is seeking a well-organised and enthusiastic individual to fill the post of Finance Assistant, during a period of maternity cover, within the Finance Team. Working as part of a small finance team based at the Western General Hospital, you will provide financial and administrative support to Institute staff responsible for the delivery of science programmes , scientific support services, administrative and technical services.

Your skills and attributes for success
- Educated at least to High Standard or equivalent ]
- Have experience of working in a busy finance environment
- Good working knowledge of financial systems, experience of University of Edinburgh systems would be desirable but not essential.
- Have a methodical approach to work, including the ability to prioritise your workload and work to tight deadlines
- Good communication, problem solving, interpersonal, IT, literacy and numeracy skills are essential, particularly the use of Excel
