Northern Balance- part of the SLS group, is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Assistant to join our team in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. You will join us on a 12 month fixed term contract (with the potential to go permanent)and in return you will receive a competitive salary of £22,000 - £26,000 per annum depending on experience.

Full time and Part time applications considered.

About the Finance Assistant role:

As our Finance Assistant,you will be a valued member within the business, you’ll support the Finance Officer in ensuring financial management processes are developed, implemented, monitored, and followed. Using your initiative, analytical and meticulous approach, you’ll be highly organised and have the confidence to juggle tasks, solve problems as well as collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve business objectives and further enhance your learning.

Key responsbilities of our Finance Assistant:

  • Maintaining the sales and purchase ledgers by ensuring invoices/ statements/ POs are checked/ posted/ paid/ chased where applicable and stock is accounted for
  • Owning or facilitating the creation of management reports including, but not limited to month-end, departmental and operational reports to support decision making
  • Resolving customers’ invoicing queries to enable a timely payment process and enhance customer experience
  • Liaising with suppliers on invoicing and assist with payment runs
  • Supporting with monthly payroll activities to ensure swift and accurate staff payments
  • Undertaking finance administration and other duties requested by management
