Finance Assistant

  • Hours: 35 per week (this role may also be considered for job sharing, split 21 / 14 hours per week)
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Salary: £24,500 - £26,000 Pro-rated (dependant on experience)
  • Location: Agile, inclusive of home working, our head office in Pontypool, Torfaen and/or our other offices across Gwent.

Purpose of the Post:Providing the organisation’s transactional and processing functions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and banking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular processing of accounts receivable transactions, including raising invoices and processing donations and remittances.
  • Provide regular processing of accounts payable transactions, including managing the purchase order process, processing supplier payments & remittances and preparing bank files for payment.
  • Provide regular bank reconciliations
  • Manage petty cash and personal charges reconciliations, ensuring that cash is banked regularly and all transactions are posted to Sage.
  • Manage balances across company credit cards / other payment cards, ensuring that limits are maintained appropriately and that all transactions are posted to Sage.
  • Provide monthly payroll processing, ensuring that data is submitted to the payroll provider in a timely manner and the provider’s reports are validated prior to being passed to the Assistant Accountant for posting.
  • Ensure that all relevant Excel templates are rolled over annually
  • Administer Sage accounting software, including setting up new users, codes & suppliers, managing user access and uploading bulk journal files
  • Collaborate with the wider Finance Team to ensure the delivery of a high quality and comprehensive service to the organisation
  • Facilitate the active participation of Managers across the organisation in understanding finance processes
  • Continuously monitor and review finance policies and processes and implement changes where necessary, ensuring these reflect Cyfannol Women’s Aid’s needs and culture.
