Finance Assistant – Cash & Banking

Paintwell Limited are a long established, growing company providing painting supplies and all associated painting and decorating accessories. Operating from over 30 branches across the North of England and using a state-of-the-art online purchasing platform, the company caters for the needs of professional tradesmen and the general public alike.

Following a period of significant growth, the Finance Team, based at the company’s Head Office in Bromborough, require the help from an experienced finance administrator, with specific experience of processing and reconciling transactions connected to cash received, banking procedures and bank reconciliations. Duties will include the following:

  • Processing takings records from multiple branch locations.
  • Processing Bank related transaction from sale to the finance system.
  • Performing Bank Reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
  • Processing and reconciling petty cash transactions.
  • Processing and reconciling multi-source payments and receipts.

Skills and experience required to fulfil the role are as follows:

  • Solid knowledge of the workings of a Finance Team, specifically work relating to Cash & Banking procedures.
  • Good knowledge of transactional processing connected to processing cash and bank transactions, including recording takings through to the finance system, recording and reconciling bank account transactions, including processing adjustments.
  • Methodical approach and understanding of basic accounting principles of double-entry and reconciliation techniques.
  • Good team player who works well with colleagues.

Although a short term, 3-month assignment initially, there will be the opportunity to have a real impact within the current Finance Team and you will be supported with training and experienced management influence throughout the assignment.
