Finance Analyst

£40,000 - £45,000, Bonus, Pension Plus Benefits

Hamilton Woods is assisting a dynamic and growing multi-faceted, construction business with the appointment of a newly created Finance Analyst opportunity, whilst the business continues its growth plans across its various regions. Reporting to the Financial Controller and joining a rapidly growing team, you will be instrumental in assisting the business through its evolution which makes this an exciting time to join this progressive organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead role in regional month end process including complex areas such as Revenue, WIP and Cost of Sales
  • Build a strong working relationship with the Regional Finance Teams to critically evaluate the substance behind the transactional detail and the appropriateness of month-end estimates. Ability to influence adherence to group policies and create a strong control environment.
  • Review outputs from the Assistant Finance Analysts (including activities such as month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations). Provide feedback and coaching to aid continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Prepare the Half-Year and Full-Year Stat packs, supplementary group information and assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc management information requests for the SMT.
  • Strong commercial acumen, ability to interpret financials into meaningful business outcomes.

Skills Required
  • Strong financial background in a large organisation
  • Full Accounting Qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or similar)
  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to deliver financial and management reports accurately and on time.
  • Knowledge of relevant technical accounting concepts and ability to critically apply to divisional process activities and provide a challenge to the regional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, utilising knowledge in order to draw conclusions from complex data and in order to generate efficiencies in financial processes.
  • Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable problem solving as an individual or as part of a team.
