Following our commitment to invest £12.5 billion in low carbon projects over the next 5 years, we have significant growth plans and are well on our way to achieving our ambition to build a world that’s more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come.Join us on our journey to net zero and help us power change.Base Location: Glasgow EurocentralSalary: £28,831 - £35,194 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible working options availableWhat is the Role?The Finance Analyst (FA) is responsible for the execution of comprehensive general accounting and period closing activities within Accounts Payable (AP).The FA will support the Senior Finance Analyst (SFA) by producing timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations and various multi-currency bank reconciliations.The FA is expected to provide financial data and insights, to update dashboards and provide recommendations to the AP Management team.- Adhere to Group specific policies and procedures.
- Identify and correct bank errors in a timely manner.
- Extract data to prepare and post journals.
- Support the Senior FA with the completion of month end reconciliations.
- Support the Senior FA with investigating material variances.
- Assist and prepare for Audit(s).
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to support the AP Operation.
- Experience of working within a challenging and dynamic environment.
- Awareness of AP best practice and procedures would be advantageous.
- Commenced study / Part Qualified with a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CPA).
- Ability to work unsupervised and deliver high quality work to tight deadlines.
- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.
- Awareness of current regulations including IFRS / New UK GAAP and Companies Acts an advantage.
