Finance Analyst - fintech moneylender

Sutton location (flexible / hybrid working - ideally 3x days in office p wk)

To support the Head of Business Analysis and Financial Planning in providing financial forecasting, planning, and analysis to support the business. Also, work within the Business Analysis team to develop and maintain performance reports that enable well-informed decision-making. Identify and produce timely and relevant analysis that provides value-adding insights to management.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of the company forecast and budgeting model to ensure it provides accurate and reliable outputs
  • Produce financial forecasts and investment appraisals for potential new branches
  • Work with the Finance department to develop management and board reporting on key measures
  • Use the Power BI reporting platform to provide the business with accurate, timely, and relevant information to support management decision-making
  • Conduct analysis on key areas of business activity and produce insights that add value to the business
  • Ad hoc projects, tasks and BAU as determined by the Head of Business Analysis and Financial Planning
Profile

Finance Analyst - fintech moneylender

Essential Requirements
  • Extensive experience in a financial reporting and analysis role
  • Experience of financial forecasting and budgeting
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain successful financial modelling tools
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including lookups, pivot tables)
  • Knowledge and experience of MS Excel VBA programming [nice to have but not necessary to have VBA]
  • A proven track-record of delivering high quality information and insight to stakeholders
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational skills with a strong work ethic and an ability to learn and develop within a role
  • The ability to deliver to tight deadlines and adapt to changing stakeholder requirements
Desirable Requirements
  • Working towards or completed a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Experience of financial reporting under IFRS9
  • Knowledge and experience of Power BI or an equivalent tool, including report building and maintenance
  • SQL programming skills and experience, with a focus on reporting environments
  • Hands-on experience of the DAX programming language
  • Experience of working in the Financial Services, Alternative Finance and/or Moneylending sectors
