The role comprises of working across two departments at Citizenship First. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be spent working within our Appointee and Money Management Team and Tuesday and Friday will be spent working within our Finance Team. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping others, whether you have lots of experience, or are looking for a change in career, this could be the role for you!
What we do:
We offer a comprehensive person-centred service that supports individuals who lack capacity to manage their money whilst safeguarding them from financial abuse. The work we do helps improve the health and well-being of the vulnerable people we work with, assists them to remain safe in their home and enables them to lead independent lives. We are authorised by the DWP to offer a corporate Appointee service.
We also support people to manage their Direct Payments. Direct Payments enable people who require care and support to choose, arrange and manage their services. This enables vulnerable people to have more choice and control over their lives. The variety of the work make this a varied and hugely satisfying role!
Role Requirements
Appointee and Money Management Team
Day to Day Tasks
- Communicating we the people we support in a way that complex information can be easily understood
- Daily management of people’s personal finances
- Creating, updating, and managing budgets for the people we support based on benefits income and expenditure
- Processing of online banking transactions
- Third-party liaison via telephone and emails
- Maintain accurate daily records
- Ensure the people we support are in full receipt of all benefit entitlements and maximise their income accordingly
Finance Team
Day to Day Tasks
- Being the first line of contact into the Finance Team
- Data entry onto Sage Accounting systems
- Liaising with Social Services and other third-party professionals to ensure correct Direct Payment arrangements
- Maintenance of purchase ledger
- Ensuring expenses payments are made
- Chasing invoices
Skills and Experience ideally required for the role:
- Excellent Organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Microsoft Excel skills (e.g. SUMIF, VLOOKUP and report designing)
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving
We offer a blended approach to training including classroom-based induction, e-learning and on-the-job training.
