In this role, you will be primarily responsible for Field Testing, ensuring the product meets customer requirements. This will include in-field validation and operation of autonomous agricultural robots on our partner and customer sites in the UK and Spain. You will gather customer feedback to assist future development as well as supporting problem solving in a structured manner.

Essential experience, training or skills:

  • Background in test planning, test execution and data analysis for agri/ off highway vehicles or robotic equipment.
  • Experienced in Instrumentation, Data acquisition and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work to a structured Problem-Solving methodology (8D, Triz, or equivalent)
  • Ability to communicate effectively as part of a remote team and build high performing relationships with all stakeholders, both internally, and on a customer site.
  • Excellent attention to detail, high levels of organisation.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Experience in agriculture and/or farming industry.
  • Training and capability in safe handling of heavy equipment.
  • You must have a right to work in UK and a Full, Clean UK Driving licence (use of a company vehicle will be provided).

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience with auto steer systems, field robots, rover or drone operations, or autonomous vehicles.
  • Knowledge and experience with drone photogrammetry, using visual and multispectral cameras for agricultural applications.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, agricultural machinery, deep learning, computer vision, electronic systems integration.
  • Technical skills in any or all of the following will be an advantage to assist problem solving in the field: Pixhawk or DJI autopilots and GCSs. Windows and Linux systems. Hardware maintenance and software upgrades. GPS and RTK. Cellular communications, radio modems.

Education:

HND or University Degree in agricultural engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial electronics, control systems, robotics or similar (experience or equivalent training to this level will be taken into consideration for the right candidate).

Pilot drone licence (not essential).

Fluent in English.

Basic understanding of Spanish is desirable but not essential.

The role will be primarily field based, where you will be actively testing our systems on farms in the UK and Spain. Flexibility to travel will be required. Work location will be initially based from Pollybell Farm, nr.Doncaster.
