Our client is an established and very successful manufacturer of printing and labelling machinery and due to business expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

The successful candidate will become a home based field service engineer responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of machinery at customer sites throughout Northern England

The Role

Reporting to the service manger you will be responsible for the ’day to day’ maintenance of a range of ’high value’ industrial printing and labelling machinery. You will undertake typically one to four scheduled client visits per day.

Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;
  • Attend machine breakdowns, service or maintenance visits as requested
  • Identify faults and repair a range of printing, labelling machinery
  • Replace damaged components e.g. print heads, coders, rollers, belts, presses etc etc.
  • Electrical fault find and repair
  • Record details of work undertaken and get customer sign off
  • Report major defects and arrange for spare parts or machine collection as appropriate.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout the UK
Candidate

You will have good 3-phase electrical engineering skills and ideally you will have previous machine / manufacturing maintenance experience.

You will have good mechanical engineering skills and ideally we are looking for candidates with previous experience in the maintenance and repair of food packaging, labelling and / or printing machinery.

Ideally you will hold formal electrical engineering qualification e.g. 18th edition or equivalent, HNC or NVQ 3 in electrical engineering.

This is a field engineer role and while the work is localised as much as it can be there will be occasional overnight travel.

Full product training will be given.
