Due to continued expansion of our field service team in Scotland we are now recruiting for another field service engineer to join our team. SNB are the largest UK based independent supplier of bespoke product inspection equipment in the UK. The product inspection SNB offer includes metal detection, x-ray, and check weighing systems, which are manufactured at our head office in Sherburn in Elmet. Each system is bespoke to the customers requirements, application and product, therefore this role offers the applicant a diverse role. Our bespoke systems are manufactured for different environments such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, packaging and textile industries. We are proud to work with the leading manufacturers within the UK’s food industry.

The Role:

Field service engineer to support our existing customers based primarily along the M8 corridor and surrounding areas. The successful applicant will be required to commission, validate, repair and upgrade metal detection and check weighing systems.

Priority Responsibilities:

  • Fault finding on complex machinery to include but not limited to: electrical wiring, electro mechanical and electronic rectification.
  • Service and calibrate existing equipment in accordance with SNB procedures.
  • Must be prepared to learn a diverse range of products from a wide range of differing brands whilst continually improving your product knowledge.
  • Completing all paperwork accurately and on a timely basis in accordance with the company procedures.
  • Ability to work independently within various environments.
  • Expected to co-operate with working over time as and when required.
  • To be part of a weekend on call standby rota system.
  • Actively promote SNB product range whilst on site in a professional manner.
  • Occasional overnight stays.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experienced in a field service role.
  • Good electrical or electronic skills.
  • Hands on approach, to solving customers problems whilst on site.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Willing and able to travel to different customer sites.
  • IT literate, Windows, Excel and Word.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good communication skills.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of food manufacturing.
  • Experience of working with product inspection and/or conveyor systems.
  • Qualification in Electromechanical/ electronic engineering.
  • PLC programming and knowledge of PC hardware.
