This is done by combining the latest cutting-edge technology with their long-established industry expertise and insight. The Role The purpose of the Field Engineer is to install and maintain LPG vessels for commercial and domestic customers in accordance with current legislation and Company standards, and to provide technical advice as required to. customers and representatives in relation to safety, product storage and distribution systems. To achieve the objectives, the following responsibilities have been identified: Check and approve site plan from the Sales Representatives. Prepare vessels for installation/uplift, arrange transport and cranes to and from site. Completion of all installations to the appropriate legislation and current standards. Provide technical advisory service to all customers and representatives on matters relating to safety legislation, product storage and distribution systems. Ensure the implementation of Company policy regarding the handling of emergencies involving LPG installations at customer premises. Attend emergency call outs (including out of hours) where required within a designated area. Assist in the prompt investigation and reporting of all incidents involving damage to property or injury to persons where company owned LPG equipment is involved. Specify and provide material lists to Engineering Department Undertake customer training, when applicable Undertake continuous development and assessment for the Gas Competency Scheme including confirmation of MOGS and assessed work based examples Maintain and develop close links with manufacturers of LPG equipment. Carry out all 5 and 10 year tests in given area and maintain records for tests completed. Attend to the general maintenance of sites within area. Carry out such other duties as may from time to time be required. Required Qualifications Either Gas Safe Registered to ACS level in:
  • Domestic Core LPG Safety PO and HR level
  • Vess 1 and Electro fusion jointing
  • Vess 2 and Gas or LPG Metres Or: Gas Safe Registered and hold CCLP1EPC (LPG External Pipework) and TPCP1 (Non-Domestic Testing and Purging) categories. Required Competencies Strong knowledge (through training) and experience in applying LPG codes of practice in particular: Safety distances, fire walls, evaporation areas, compound fences Material specifications Purging and inspection Vessel entry permit systems Pressure and temperature ratings for material specified HRV’s and relief valve settings for Propane and Butane Pipe materials (high pressure, int pressure, low pressure) Water protection Air sensing for emergency shut off valves Ability to plan and manage own work activities and take initiative. Ability to coach and train others in application of LPG codes of practices Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical persons.
