Fibre Engineer

Toro Recruitment is looking for an Fibre Engineers to come onboard to a Multi Utility company that works nationwide. The company have had a fantastic year and they are looking to strengthen theirs in house Fibre department. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation of Fibre Optic infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of Fibre Optic infrastructure. This full time, permanent position and we are looking for candidates to be based and to cover the following postcode areas – CO, CM, MK, B, YO, LS

The responsibilities for the Fibre Engineer position are.

  • Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE that is supplied
  • Install and commission Fibre Infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions
  • Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Regional Construction Manager
  • Complete site-specific risk assessments on a daily basis and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment
  • Attend “toolbox talks” and other training courses as required
  • Record accurately details of work undertaken
  • Submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescales
  • Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Construction Management team that fall within the general experience scope of the candidate

The requirements for the Fibre Engineer role are:

  • Fibre Engineer/Splicing experience and certificates
  • NRSWA operative ticket
  • Full UK driving licence
  • BT/Openreach accreditations
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • IT Literate
