As the Fibre Build Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Fibre supervisors, coordinators, and operational build teams. You will collaborate closely with the Civils Manager as part of a comprehensive management team. Your primary objective will be to ensure the safe and successful delivery of FTTP projects in the London Area.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently oversee the entire fibre build element of projects, from the initial build to project completion.
  • Plan build projects up to three months in advance, managing multiple Hyperzones and ensuring consistent progress reporting through daily activity reports.
  • Actively participate in cost and schedule discussions, providing valuable input in project decisions.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, including civils and fibre supervisors.
  • Ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Manage and coordinate operational build teams, while collaborating with other managers to identify areas for performance improvement.
  • Maintain project profitability and contribute to weekly financial reports.
  • Proactively provide customers with regular updates and reports to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Support the procurement process by coordinating the ordering of materials, ensuring adequate supplies for each cluster and feeder build.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects, while effectively mitigating and highlighting any budget or schedule risks.
  • Implement rigorous incident reporting procedures, including accidents, incidents, near misses, and quality failures, and ensure their timely documentation and reporting.
  • Provide accurate and detailed weekly reports on build progress, encountered risks, and future forecasts.
  • Manage operational relationships with various stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee the auditing of completion documentation and as-built information, ensuring adherence to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and accuracy in reporting any discrepancies, defects, or changes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in successfully delivering FTTP projects within the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to utilize data-driven insights for performance improvement.
  • Sound knowledge of project planning and coordination, including cost and schedule management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed KPIs and targets while ensuring project profitability.
  • Proficient in utilizing project management tools and software for reporting and analysis.
  • Proactive and customer-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to upholding quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
