Farm Worker - Pigs

We are a family run, 500 sow herd pig farm, who breed and finish pigs in a high welfare, largely straw based, indoor, wet fed unit near Devizes, Wiltshire. We are now looking for a highly motivated and enthusiatic trainee or experienced stockperson to join our small team.

You would be responsible for:

• Feeding and cleaning out pigs on a daily basis (often with a pitch fork)

• Identifying and treating sick animals
• Pressure washing

• Tractoring out muck and moving animals about the farm

You must have;

• a minumum of one years experience gained either working on a farm or at Agricultural college

• a driving licence

• a high level of physical fitness

• a strong work ethic and 100% reliability

• attention to detail, enthusiasm and stamina

The position is 39 hours a week plus overtime and you will be required to work every other weekend. Training is provided and the starting salary is negotiable depending on experience but a hard working and highly motivated individual can quickly progress.
