About Us:

Dunbar Garden Centre first opened its doors in 2013 and in so doing became the second in our group of three family owned garden centres.

The first, Berwick Garden Centre, began trading in 1983 and Plantsplus, located north of Newcastle was added in 2016

Dunbar Garden Centre is a large, spacious garden centre with dedicated restaurant, plant area with opening roof, pet, clothing and gift departments and is known for the range of products we sell and our knowledgeable team of staff.

The Role:

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Farm Shop Supervisor to help develop our offering and oversee the day to day running of the department ensuring product quality and superb customer satisfaction whilst maximising the department’s profitability.

The position is full time and will include working alternate weekends.

The role will involve:

Supervising, motivating and training a small team;

Stock management, replenishment and ordering;
Product procurement, ensuring the offering is relevant and seasonal;
Processing stock and resulting paperwork via our EPOS and Stock Inventory systems;
Ensuring displays are innovative, practical and maintained and that these are refreshed on a regular basis;
Ensuring the customer experience is second to none;
Achieving departmental targets and individual KPI’s;
Working to all HR, HSE, Food Safety, Environmental and Fire guidelines in line with company policy and current legislation;
Looking to maximise all retail sale opportunities, whilst minimising wastage.

The ideal candidate will:

Have experience of food retail, purchasing and product merchandising at a similar level;
Understand food safety practices (with a current Food Hygiene qualification) and stock control;
Possess excellent people skills;
Be competent and confident with computer work with basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
Be a real foodie, who is passionate about the products they sell;
Experience working with a deli offering would be an advantage.
