Farm Shop Sales and General Assistant – St Buryan circa 24 hours/week, salary dependent on experience.

This is a great opportunity to join an existing, friendly, specialised retail business and café working part-time in St Buryan starting in late June/early July 2023

The successful candidate will be working within our Award winning farm shop selling and serving only the best locally sourced and home grown produce. Located less than 3 miles from the busy tourist destination of Sennen, and 6 miles from Penzance. The farm shop specialises in high quality home grown Vegetables, Home reared meat, hand made pasties, cakes and a selection of local produce and crafts.

The Role

We are currently seeking additional Retail and Café support for the business during the busy Summer months from June to October, with the possibility of making this a permanent role for the right candidate. This would suit someone who has a passion for food and enjoys working with and dealing with people.

The role will encompass all elements of the farm shop and café from preparing teas, coffees, cakes and other food to selling local produce and managing the till, as well as behind the scenes tidying, washing up, cleaning and stocking shelves. This will be a hands-on role so would suit someone who enjoys a diverse position.

The farm shop has a loyal clientele and the owners and current team pride themselves on the reputation they have built up since the business opened. We have many repeat customers and customer service will be a high priority both for locals and seasonal visitors to the area. This is an important aspect of the role and we would like someone who can appreciate the customer base, nurture it and also help build new customer and supplier relationships.

Working hours

Flexible weekdays, will include Saturdays but not Sundays

The Candidate

Desirable

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Level 2 Food and Hygiene certificate or be prepared to sit this exam (cost will be covered)

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 21-24 per week

Salary: From £10.42 per hour
