This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful, hard working team of

people and be part of an award winning school farm. We are looking for a

positive, enthusiastic and energetic member to join our team.

Woodchurch High School Farm is a dynamic educational resource. The farm is

located within the school grounds and is home to a range of animals including

pigs, alpacas, pygmy goats, rare breed sheep, tortoise, hens, ducks, rabbits,

guinea pigs and ducks. The purpose of the farm is to be a teaching resource for

BTEC Animal Care and other subjects across the school curriculum. In addition,

the farm plays a large role in being an environment that promotes positive

mental health. We also have a Forest School area, a Sensory Garden and a

Horticulture area. Each year we have a lambing season and in the summer the

children take part in agricultural show competitions such as the Cheshire

Show. Fundraising activities are also an important part of the farm activities

and each year we host a Christmas Fair and Summer Fair. No two days are the

same on the farm, which makes it an exciting and vibrant place to work.

The successful candidate will be expected to be:

a DIY enthusiast particularly repurposing recycled materials

interested in working with animals

knowledgeable about forestry skills and have an interest in horticulture

a good communicator who enjoys working with people and children

rigorous in enforcing health & safety standards

effective at rodent control

adaptable, reliable and resilient

keen to develop and learn new skills
