As an inclusive, forward thinking business, we take pride in our approach to poultry farming across Avara Foods and are looking for a highly competent and motivated Farm Manager to join our Agriculture Team, based at one of our farms in North Farm, Skipton.

Purpose of the role:
As a Farm Manager, you will take control of day to day farm management. Holding the responsibility for the wellbeing and performance of the flock extending to the overall upkeep and appearance of the site as a whole.

Your key responsibilities as Farm Manager will include:
  • Taking control of bird health and welfare at all times.
  • To check and weigh stock on a weekly basis.
  • Ensuring all paperwork is in place and “audit ready”.
  • Monitoring and maintaining temperatures, feed, bedding, fuel and water on the site.
  • Manage the farm maintenance programs requesting repairs and upkeep.
  • Leading, motivating and helping to develop farm personnel.

What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience of managing livestock
  • Good knowledge of bio security and bird welfare standards
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with site and team colleagues.
  • A flexible working approach and self-motivation.
  • Excellent numeracy and communication skills.
