The Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Farm and Equine Sales Manager to join our dynamic and progressive team.

The Farm and Equine Sales Manager will professionally sell, manage and develop the business potential of the Dechra pharmaceutical range to the veterinary profession focussing on a defined group of customers.

The territory is a 50/50 split between Farm and Equine sales therefore field sales experience and understanding of both areas is highly desirable

The position will report into the UK Equine and Farm Animal Business Manager.

Location

This role is territory based and covers Wales and the west of England, including the following postcode areas: SY, LL, LD, CF, SA, PR, PR, CH, HR, WV, LZ, BB, BL

The Challenge

So, what will you be doing? This role has a broad and varied remit and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Ensure territory consistently achieves sales targets.
  • Ensure effective territory planning and prioritise sales activities and customer contact towards achieving agreed business and sales targets
  • Ensure that job standards as defined within the Dechra Selling Skills Competency Framework are adhered to at all times.
  • Manage business appointments and travel to maximise productivity in line with defined KPI’s.
  • Plan and manage territory, product mix and customer service, as defined with Farm & Equine Business Manager in line with company sales and marketing development strategy and timescales. Deliver campaign and service messages and follow up on all customer requirements
  • Liaise closely with Companion Animal Territory Sales Managers teams to achieve territory objectives and customer satisfaction where appropriate
  • Maintain and develop customers through appropriate business solutions and ethical sales methods.
  • Use customer CRM system to track and monitor customer contacts, and ensure all relevant information changes are updated, minimum 3 times per week.
  • Respond to, and follow up on, sales enquiries using all appropriate methods in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities as required
  • Attend and present at all customer meetings, congress and events and internal Dechra business meetings as required.
  • Attend training programmes to ensure continuous professional development and ensure skills and techniques are continually developing

  • NOAH Certificate Animal Health qualified within 2 years of start date is desirable
