Join our dedicated Family Safeguarding Team, committed to supporting families in need and ensuring the safety of children at risk. As a vital member of our team, your role will involve overseeing and facilitating family time (contact) between children and parents or wider family members, while meticulously recording observations in a timely manner.

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Worker who can establish and maintain high-quality professional relationships with children, families, and collaborating agencies. Your motivation and commitment to working respectfully are crucial aspects of this role.

In collaboration with qualified social workers, you will actively engage in direct work with children and families, contributing to assessments and providing essential support to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

The Family Safeguarding West Team is based within the Children and Family Services department of West Berkshire Council. The team comprises a dedicated group of professionals, including a Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, qualified social workers, family support workers, Mental Health Practitioners, Domestic Abuse Practitioners, Psychologists, Recovery Workers, and business support.
