To work as a team member under the supervision of team leader or manager, carrying out tasks as required in compliance with IPSA EHS and Quality Standards.

assessing tasks for risks and implementing control measures
staging materials prior to batch production
checking Raw Material approval / shelf life status prior to use
accurately weighing Raw Materials and Mixtures
following standard process instructions to minimize batch variance.
accurately completing all relevant paperwork
feeding batches of raw materials into production machinery
operating production line equipment, for example, a high-speed disperser
monitoring the production process and carrying out basic batch testing using standard QC test methods
finishing products, for example, applying labels and packing goods ready for dispatch
storing goods and raw materials in the yard or warehouse
using lifting equipment and forklift trucks
cleaning and maintaining work areas, machinery and equipment
reporting any problems during the shift to supervisors including any maintenance issues

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

good practical skills
the ability to work quickly and methodically
good team working skills
the ability to follow instructions
an awareness of environment, health and safety issues
a willingness to work flexibly
good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal customers
good computer skills (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
ability to work independently and to carry out batch processing to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
no specific knowledge and experience is required but, if not already possessed, forklift truck counterbalance and reach licenses must be achieved within, ideally, twelve months of commencement, and a nationally recognized qualification, e.g. Level 1/2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations or Level 2 Certificate in Manufacturing Practices, is desirable

ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the IPS and local standards
a good level of fitness
