Position Summary

This role will be responsible for developing, managing, and ensuring site facilities requirements are being completed. They will offer support to sites to achieve well maintained facilities, compliance with STERIS standards as well as local, national and all relevant regulations to ensure legal compliance. They will provide project management support to sites as directed by the Director, International Facilities and Real Estate.

They will be the facilities representative for their place of work and responsible for ensuring the associated routine, preventative maintenance and annual facility tasks are completed.

The role will cover multiple sites in the UK and will require UK and international travel.

Duties

Facilities Management and Support 75%

  • Develop a schedule and monitoring system to ensure sites are carrying out all required Building regulatory checks to remain legally compliant
  • Develop a portfolio wide facility contacts directory with the Director, Facilities and Real Estate.
  • Ensure the maintenance requirements under the lease terms for facilities are being carried out.
  • Ensure site inspections and testing are being recorded and carry out random audits.
  • Ensure consistent maintenance and repair methods across the portfolio and the compliance with company policies and URS’s.
  • Provide monthly reports on sites status and highlight any issues to the Director International Facilities and Real Estate.
  • Ensure the facilities database is up to date with relevant information.
  • Provide cost saving ideas, new and innovative ways to provide more effective services.
  • Maintain access control to building.
  • Assist in the coordination of individual and large-scale moves and reconfigurations across the portfolio of facilities where required.
  • Prepare the Facilities Maintenance Budget and review with manager on regular basis.
  • Review and analyse as required building BMS systems.
  • Assist with coordination and management of Global Records Retention and retention policy.
  • Manage and coordinate physical records inventory for STERIS Mentor sites.
  • Review and ensure relevant RAMS and permits to work are in place
  • Attend meetings with various departments and represent the Facilities and Real Estate Department.
  • Make decisions that are in the interest of STERIS
  • At all times maintain compliance with corporate HSE requirements and site health and safety committee facility requirements
  • At based office be an active member of the site health and safety committee.

Vendor Management 5%



  • Manage the utility supplies to each site and coordinate with STERIS’s contracted utility management company.
  • Facilitate the coordination of multisite contracts.
  • Offer technical support to sites and advise for maintenance contracts.

Project Management – 20%+



  • Manage special projects, as may be with outside vendors
  • Perform facility maintenance management tasks and special facilities related projects as may be assigned by Director, International and Real Estate.
  • Carry out any other duties, tasks or projects as assigned by the Director, International Facilities and Real Estate

Required Experience

5 + years’ experience within maintenance or facilities related position
5+ years’ experience in facilities responsibility position
Knowledge of building operations, basic mechanical systems and facilities management best practices
Understanding of basic accounting and finance principles
Knowledge of building maintenance, repair, construction, materials, and equipment
Able to read and understand architectural drawings
Have a valid Drivers License
3+ years Project Management experience

Demonstrated ability to manage and organize their own workload
Ability to work and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Ability to independently visit sites and act credibly and diplomatically as the Facilities and Real Estate representative.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Excellent project management skills
Ability to evaluate bids/quotes for projects
Must be able to review building schematic plans/drawings and determine compliance
Good analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Must have computer proficiency in Microsoft suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
