Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.
We are seeking to appoint a Facilities Operations Manager to join the Facilities Team at the Nuffield Department of Population Health. The Facilities team are responsible for running the building to ensure that first class research environments, including laboratory and office space across two buildings, the Richard Doll Building (RDB) and the NDPH/Big data Institute Building (NDPH/BDIB).
Facilities Operations Manager you will work alongside scientists ensuring that the building, laboratories and clinical areas are well stocked, maintained and operating according to requirements. You will be responsible for undertaking and organising agreed maintenance activities or repairs and you will ensure that standard building and laboratory contracts are in place and that work is completed with minimal disruption to daily activities. You will be the first point of contact for all building and facilities related queries, ensuring that faults are quickly rectified and a safe productive work environment is provided. You will be required to regularly check and monitor for unsafe situations or equipment failures, taking appropriate remedial action and have the knowledge and experience to address issues independently or to escalate to others.
It is essential that you hold Facilities management qualification, such as British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM), or equivalent experience in facilities management in a relevant environment. An ability to clearly and accurately communicate processes and procedures verbally and in writing is essential, and you will demonstrate a good interpersonal skill, professionalism and able to deal effectively, efficiently and calmly with a wide range of visitors and staff at all levels.
The post is full-time (part-time considered) and fixed-term for 2 years.
