Salary: Grade 7 - £24,982 to £27,041 per annum (pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Hours: 29.60 hours per week (flexible work pattern)

Applications for the above position are invited, based in our Facilities-Engineering Team.
The successful applicant will assist in the provision of an efficient and effective property, engineering and grounds facilities management service in relation to specified Public Sector premise(s). Such tasks are likely to be of a legislative framework, planned, cyclical and responsive maintenance nature in the main and involve interfaces with various parties, not least internal bodies/organisations, but also visiting contractors.
There may be a need to work with other similar bodies, as the role will include surveys and inspections, preparation of schedules of work and agreeing costing for works as well as monitoring and reporting back on such works - and the actual management of contractors for responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance works themselves. Duties will also include monitoring any development of building defects, but also planning ongoing evolution of (in the main) a co-location [mainly Public Sector] building in conjunction with external parties and with the Landlord.
The Council acts as Facilities Management Agent to the Landlord to also include interfaces with Porterage and Public Buildings Team – where several such Team Members will interface regularly and daily with this FMO role.
Security awareness within Public Sector buildings is advantageous, as is knowledge of Ventilation of Buildings, Fire Strategies, Fire Risk Assessments, Control of Legionellosis, Health & Safety Management as well as wider aspects in co-location buildings and dealing with all manner of persons in a polite, effective and responsive manner.
You will also need a current valid driving licence and access to a vehicle that you are prepared to use for work purposes. You will be required to participate in the Council’s/ wider parties “on call” out of hours’ rota (which may also involve some weekend availability of working) for which you will have an additional allowance covering you both during the normal working week and at weekends.
